The Crime Branch has formed a Special Investigative Team (SIT) of three officers for the purpose and has begun its investigations today, informed Crime Branch ADG B K Sharma here today.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Monday wrote a letter to Sharma for a thorough formal investigation into the issue after finding no truth in them following a preliminary investigation.
“The Shree Mandir administration, in its preliminary investigation, has found the photographs of Brahma and pataali rituals of Lord Jagannath circulating in social media to be fakes. They had sent a report to us yesterday requesting us to register a case. Accordingly, we have registered an FIR. Since it is a sensitive case and involves the emotions and feelings of crores of Odias, we have formed an SIT for conducting a probe quickly.
