Odisha Crime Branch portal wins e-INDIA Award

Odisha Crime Branch official portal has received the elets e-INDIA Award 2015. It has received the award in the Cyber Security Initiative of the Year category.

The portal created by National Informatics Centre, Bhubaneswar has bought glory to Odisha by winning elets eINDIA Awards – 2015 on the project “Dynamic Portal of Odisha Crime Branch (http://odishapolicecidcb.gov.in )” in the category of  Cyber Security Initiative of the Year.


The website is unique with information on police, crime branch and overall crime scenario of Odisha. The portal has vital information about the Odisha Crime Branch.

It has been developed by Dr R. N. Behera, Senior Technical Director, NIC Odisha State Centre, under the guidance of S. K. Panda, Deputy Director General  and State Information Officer, NIC, Odisha.

The portal consists of various features such as – tracking missing persons, cyber crime, women trafficking, Economic Offence Wing, Special task force, Integrated Anti Human Trafficking Unit (IAHTU), various safety tips and crime scenario of Odisha and citizen charter.

The portal was conceived by K B Singh, with contribution from B K Sharma ADG Police and Arun Bothra, IG Police Crime branch.

The award was received by Dr R N Behera, from M. Sankarnarayan, IAS, Director IT Department, Maharastra in a recent event in Mumbai.

eINDIA Awards have been set up to acknowledge innovative ICT initiatives that are driving the quality and access of Governance, Healthcare, Education and Financial Inclusion across the country.

Awards are given under eGov, eHealth, digital learning and financial inclusion from government organizations, non- governmental organizations, private institutions and enterprises.
