Bhubaneswar, Nov 23:
The chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court in the Odisha capital today sent Prashant Dash, the chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Seashore group, to judicial custody till November 27.
Dash’ bail plea moved by his counsel would be heard tomorrow, the court said in its ruling this evening. He would be shifted to the Jharpada jail here later in the evening.
The Seashore boss was produced in the court this evening at the end of his extended period of remand. Yesterday, the court had extended his CBI remand by a day. The court had earlier allowed the CBI to take him on a 13-day remand, which ended yesterday.
During Dash’ remand period, the CBI interrogated Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) president and former BJD No 2 Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, fixer Subhankar Nayak and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s personal aide Saroj Sahu face-to-face with him and extracted a wealth of information from them about the modus operandi of the tainted company.
