Bhubaneswar, Sep 15:
A local court in Odisha refused to put a stay on the screening of much-talked about movie ‘Bhaina Kan Kala Se’ allegedly made on comedian Tatwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pom Pom’s life, paving the way for its release.
The Civil Judge (Junior Division) court refused to give a decree against the release of the movie and directed the producer to present his stand on the matter on October 3.
The actor had moved the court to stall the screening of a movie scheduled to hit theatres tomorrow.
The actor filed a petition in the court praying to stop the release of the Odia movie ‘Bhaina Kan Kala Se’. Papu contested that the movie resembles his life and has been shot without his consent. Further, the movie shows him in poor light.
Besides, event manager Sushant Panda had also filed a similar petition citing obscene scenes in the movie.
“The movie will have an adverse impact on his life. The case is under investigation and is being probed by Crime Branch. How can people accuse him that he has taken money? How can one produce film without his consent?” Papu Pom Pom’s lawyer Bikash Rout questioned.
It may be mentioned here that the actor was released on bail from Jharpada Special Jail after his arrest for allegedly exploiting a minor girl on the pretext of giving her roles in movies.
“We will challenge in the court even after the release of the movie. The movie contains objectionable scenes. The tradition should come to an end where a character in a judicially pending case is being portrayed,” petitioner’s counsel Bana Bihari Mohanty said.
The Sanjay Nayak directed movie is said to be based on the mega chit fund scam in the state and casting couch allegations in the Ollywood industry. The cast of the movie are: Uttam Mohanty, Kuna Tripathy, Chandan, Jina, Balakrushna, Tamanna, Biju Badajena and Dev Sweta.
“I will definitely show the movie to Papu. I have the courage that Papu would appreciate the movie after viewing it. The industry was blamed in the recent past on casting couch and chit fund allegations. This movie has been made in reply to the mud slung on us,” director of the movie Sanjay Nayak said.
“There was a conspiracy to blame our industry on casting couch and chit fund allegations. We are trying to portray the real picture that it doesn’t exist in our industry. There are no scenes which defame Papu, at least in the scenes I have acted,” said Uttam Mohanty, veteran Ollywood actor.
