Berhampur, Oct 4:
A local court in Odisha’s Ganjam district today granted bail to top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in two cases.
According to reports, Sorada Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court granted bail to Panda in two cases. However, he would have to remain in jail as several other cases are pending against him.
Earlier in April this year, the same court had granted bail to Panda on two sureties of Rs 50,000 each after police failed to submit the charge sheet.
Prior to that, he was acquitted in four cases including two at Berhampur court and one each at Sorada and Nayagarh courts.
Notably, the elusive Red leader was arrested from a house in Bada Bazar area in Berhampur in July 2014. Since then, the 47-year-old founder leader of Odisha Maobadi Party (OMP) is lodged in Berhampur Circle Jail.
