Odisha court allows three-day remand of Tito aide Chiku

A local court in Odisha today allowed police to take gangster Dil Nawaz Khan alias Chiku on a three-day remand for further questioning.

The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court allowed the Commissionerate police to take gangster Chiku on remand who is a member of Kendrapada-based notorious gangster Tito’s gang.

It may be recalled that Chiku was nabbed on February 16 from the SDJM court premises here while he was moving suspiciously in the area at a time when the Dhalsamanta brothers were brought for appearance in the court. A day later, the key henchman of Tito was formally arrested.

Police seized two crude bombs, and explosive materials such as 200 gm gun powder, one kg concrete chips, 100 gm iron nails, 100 gm bicycle bearing balls and jute threads from his possession.

Chiku is a resident of Diwan Bazar here and was wanted in several cases. He was involved in a number of criminal activities in Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Kendrapara districts. As many as seven cases are registered against him in several police stations, police had said.
