Odisha cops shine at All India Shooting Competition


Bhubaneswar: Odisha police personnel put up an impressive performance at the recently-concluded 19th All India Police (AIPDM) Shooting Competition-2018 at Manesar, Gurugram in Haryana.

Odisha secured Overall 3rd Best Amongst States in the all India competition with 1662 points.

While Rajasthan Police scored 1706 points to top in Overall Best Amongst States, their Tamil Nadu counterparts bagged 1670 points and were bestowed with Overall 2nd Best Amongst States.

Havildar Jugraj Thapa struck gold in 50 M Carbine (kneeling position). Thapa is currently posted at NSG Training Centre at Chandaka here.

More than 750 participants of 31 teams of State Police Forces and Central Armed Police Forces participated in the event.

There were a total 13 matches and 41 medals and 13 Trophies awarded to the winners.

A 38-member team from Odisha participated in the event.

Odisha DGP RP Sharma congratulated all the members of the contingent for an impressive performance.

The competition beginning Dec 6 concluded on Dec 11.
