Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania today sought a report from the police officers on duty on February 13 when allegedly stenographer of former Odisha DGP Sanjeev Marik met arrested Dhalasamanta brothers while they were being produced in the SDJM court at Cuttack.
The Commissioner has sought a report from the police officers on duty on the alleged meeting between the D-brothers and Rabindra Sethi, the then stenographer of former DGP Sanjeev Marik in the court premises, revealed a source in the Twin City Commissionerate Police.
Former IGP Anadi Sahu had created a flutter by alleging in a press meet that Marik had taken about Rs 7 crore from D-brothers and his stenographer Sethi used to handle his illegal monetary transactions.
Sahu had further alleged that Sethi on February 13 had met D-brothers while they were being produced in the court and had asked them not to reveal anything about Marik.
Both Marik and Sethi had however, refuted the allegations. Sethi who was currently posted in the Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) transferred to South-Western range DIG office on Wednesday following surfacing of the allegations.
However, DGP K B Singh had Wednesday ruled out the linking of transfer of Sethi to that of Sahu’s allegation and had said that his performance was unsatisfactory besides, he had served for over 12 years at one station and was hence transferred.
