Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of the Congress party will release its election manifesto in the first week of this month, said Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik today.
Issues related to farmers, agriculture, women and youths will be prioritised in the poll manifesto, the OPCC chief said.
Worth mentioning, the State Congress had earlier targeted to release the manifesto by February-end. As part of the manifesto preparation exercise, party workers had carried out door-to-door visits to gather views of public and different social organisations.
A team of five Congress leaders from Chhattisgarh led by Pankaj Singh had visited Odisha in February in connection with the manifesto preparation. The Odisha unit of Congress might have adopted the style in which manifesto was prepared by the Chhattisgarh Congress ahead of Assembly polls there, in which the grand old party got a landslide victory and formed government.
