Cuttack, Dec 28:

Congress leader Arindam Sarkhel alias Bapi, arrested for his alleged complicity in the murder of a senior executive of a stevedoring company, was today admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after he complained of chest pain.


Sarkhel, who is currently lodged in Choudwar jail, was admitted to the cardiology department of the hospital, sources said.

He was later discharged following a health checkup and taken back to the jail.

Notably, the trade union leader turned politician was arrested on November 18 for his alleged links in the murder of Mahendra Swain, General Manager of Hyderabad-based Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited.
