Bhubaneswar, Feb 23:
Odisha Chief Minister and incumbent Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik will get an extended term to serve as party president.
As per information provided by the party, it is certain for Naveen’s term to be extended as he is the unanimous choice of the party and will be the only person to file nomination papers for the poll.
The election process for party president will begin with filing of nomination papers on February 26 and will come to an end on February 28 with the announcement of the poll results.
The process, however, remains a mere formality given the obvious results, said a party source.
The party’s state executive consists of 81 members and the state council consists of 354 members. Earlier on February 10, it announced the names of its district president for 29 out of 32 district presidents.
