Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sought cooperation from all stakeholders for the forthcoming Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath at Puri while stressing on the timely and smooth conduct of the grand festival with proper observation of rituals associated with it.
“Various issues pertaining to the Rath Yatra were discussed with the focus on timely completion of the rituals of the Mahaprabhu and provision of amenities for the pilgrims. I seek the cooperation of all for the successful celebration of the Rath Yatra,” said Patnaik briefing reporters after the Rath Yatra Coordination Committee meeting held here today.
The administration has taken all steps for the smooth and successful conduct of the Rath Yatra.
“The administration has taken all steps for the Rath Yatra and I am hopeful that it will be completed successfully. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed each and every aspect of the preparations and arrangements for the grand event. Remaining minor problems will be sorted out,” said Aditya Prasad Padhi, chief secretary, who was also present at the meeting.
“You might have observed in the last two years no one has been allowed to climb atop the chariots. We will also try our best to see to it that during the pahandi and all other occasions no one is allowed to climb the chariots. All arrangements have been made and rules will be strictly implemented,” said Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
