Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has severely criticized the rape and murder of a 10 year-old girl in Bhuban block on January 25 this year and announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh for the victims family.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, yesterday in a press statement has said that he is deeply distressed by the brutal incident. He has ordered a swift investigation, said that strict action will be taken against the accused.
Offering his condolences to the grieving family the chief minister has instructed the administration to offer all help to the family of the victim. He also announced Rs 1 lakh as compensation to the victim family.
Notaby, a 10-year-old girl had been allegedly raped and murdered in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district in January 25.
The gruesome incident, had created resentment among the locals at Kansargoda village in Baruan Panchayat under Bhuban block in the district.
The 10-year-old had gone to her neighbour’s house to watch television, but did not return home. Family members searched everywhere, but failed to find her.
In the morning, when some village women went to the field for their morning ablutions they found the body of the minor girl bearing injury marks. She was strangled with her frock, according to reports.
