Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered for exclusion of all ineligible beneficiaries under National Food Security Act (NFSA) by January 15.
The Chief Minister also ordered for distribution of ration cards to all eligible beneficiaries within the time frame.
The Chief Minister issued the orders today during a high level review meeting here at the state secretariat on the implementation of NFSA in the state.
“The Chief Minister today held a high level meeting to review the implementation of NFSA in the state. The Chief Minister directed the district collectors to complete distribution of already prepared ration cards by January 15. Secondly, he has asked the district collectors to take a final decision on the applications for exclusion after due examination by January 15. Thirdly, the Chief Minister has advised the collectors to distribute the due quota of rice and wheat for the month of January to all beneficiaries by January 31. Fourthly, any eligible family which has not been included in the beneficiary list can apply at the nearest block or municipality office and get their ration cards,” informed Sanjay Das Burma, Minister Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare briefing reporters here today after the review meeting.
