Odisha CM launches ‘Mu Hero, Mu Odisha’ campaign


Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched ‘Mu Hero, Mu Odisha ((I am Hero, I am Odisha) campaign’ to identify and acknowledge unsung talents from each panchayat and urban local bodies in the state.

The Chief Minister flagged-off the programme at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.

The campaign was launched under Biju Yuva Vahini, a voluntary programme that aims to promote youth leadership and sports at the community level.

The district collectors will nominate at least five change agents from each district while nominations will also be received from the youths under the ‘Mu Hero, Mu Odisha’ campaign.

“Odisha is the land of heroes. Every house in every village and town has Gopabandhu Das, Madhu Babu, Biju Babu and Dharmapada. It is our duty to acknowledge and respect their contribution to our society,” said Patnaik.

“Everyone either he or she who is either a doctor, engineer, farmer or ordinary person has different talents. They are the silent workers and the real heroes. I am happy that there are some achievers who are with us today and I congratulate them. You people are the real inspiration for the society. Everyone’s cooperation and contribution will help the society to walk on the path of development,” he added.

On the occasion, the CM also inaugurated www.bijuyuvavahini.com  the web portal of the Biju Yuva Vahini.
