Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today handed over work orders to 11,228 beneficiaries for the construction of houses in the first phase under ABAAS – Odisha Urban Housing Mission.
It may be mentioned here that as many as 23,843 beneficiaries from the economically weaker sections have been identified in 27 districts for allocation of financial assistance to construct houses, official sources said.
This apart, 11, 548 beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela cities have been identified under the scheme for allocation of financial assistance to construct houses, official sources added.
Under the scheme, poor people having own land will be allocated a sum of Rs 2 lakh in various phases for the construction of a pucca house of 300 sq ft area.
Financial assistance under the scheme will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary.
