Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off a mini-marathon to mark legendary statesman Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary.
The mini-marathon commenced from Biju Patnaik Park in Bhubaneswar. It will end at the Kalinga Stadium.
Patnaik garlanded the statue of former Chief Minister at the premises of State Assembly on the occasion of 101st birth anniversary of the leader.
Similarly, the birth centenary of Biju Patnaik is also being observed in the Millennium city Cuttack with a mini-marathon that started from Ananda Bhawan, the ancestral house of Patnaik. Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain inaugurated the event.
Remembering the great leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to microblogging site Twitter to pay his tribute in Odia language.
Notably, several programmes were held throughout the year to mark the birth centenary of the leader.
