Bhubaneswar, Dec 9:

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated young innovator Subhendu Kumar Sahu from Ganjam district at a function held here.

The Chief Minister congratulated the child prodigy from Hinjili for developing an award-winning device which can perform multiple farm operations. The device assists farmers in tilling of soil, sowing of seeds and sprinkling of pesticides along with a host of other farming activities.

Besides this, Patnaik also gifted him a laptop at the function held at state secretariat.

“I am impressed by his humble attitude and hope this young innovator would achieve many success in future,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said.

Subhanedu’s father Shantanu Sahu and his teacher and mentor Manjula Sahu were also present on the occasion.

It may be recalled here that Subhendu had received bronze medal in the National Child Award for ‘Exceptional Achievement’ from President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan last month on Children’s Day.

Shubhendu — a Class VIII student of Somapur Project Upper Primary School in Hinjili — had prepared a science project titled ‘Gift for Farmers’ which got selected for the national level award.
