Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday gave away trophies to 30 eminent artists in the field of performing and visual art at a function at Jayadev Bhawan here.
Thanking the Culture department for its effort in this regard, he said this will attract the budding artists of the state to the pristine heritage, art and tradition of Odisha.
“Since the selection of the artists is done under the three-tier system at the block, district and state level, it will immensely help the budding artists in the rural and urban areas to showcase their talent in this field. The effort of the department will create cultural awareness in the state”, the chief minister said.
Among others, Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda, secretary, Arabinda Padhee and director, Culture, Sushil Kumar Das were present on the occasion.
