Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister today announced an additional financial assistance of Rs 5 crores for the flood-hit Kerala.
The amount would be given to the flood-ravaged State from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Besides, the CM also ordered 500 MT of Polythene sheets worth Rs 8 crore to be sent to Kerala.
On August 16, Patnaik had given a Rs 5 crore assistance for the flood victims of Kerala.
Earlier, Patnaik spoke with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over telephone and assured to provide relief and assistance to the people of Kerala affected by the flood.
As of Sunday, the toll from the torrential rains and the subsequent floods that has ravaged Kerala since August 9 stood at 370.
The Army, Air Force and Navy are jointly conducting a massive rescue and relief operation along with the NDRF teams in the state. So far, more than three lakh people have been rescued from inundated areas.
