Bhubaneswar, June 5:
The Odisha Congress will hold its legislature party meeting to decide on the next Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly on June 10.
The AICC has appointed senior Congress leader Ajay Maken as the party observer for the election of the leader of the 16-member Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in the Assembly.
“Congress general secretary and Odisha in-charge BK Hariprasad has informed me that Maken has been appointed as observer for the CLP leader election. Maken along with Hariprasad and secretary Subhankar Sarkar will be visiting the state on June 10,” said PCC president Jaydev Jena.
Most likely, senior Congress leader Narsingh Mishra will most likely be elected as the CLP leader and thereby become the Leader of Opposition in the House.
Mishra is presently undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Mumbai. He had undergone bypass surgery for removal of blockages in arteries.
