Bhubaneswar, Mar 3:
A day after a top Odisha cadre IPS officer was quizzed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) personnel for his alleged links with a Ponzi firm, the officer today cleared the air on being interrogated by the central agency in the multi-crore rupee chit fund scam in the state.
Refuting to divulge much detail, IG (Central Range) RP Koche today told media that he was being questioned by CBI yesterday and he has replied to the queries.
“This is an investigative process and I cannot divulge details of it. I have given clarification on what I was asked,” IG (Central Range) RP Koche told media.
According to reports, was yesterday grilled by CBI sleuths at an undisclosed location in the capital city for his alleged links with chit fund firm Seashore.
The top IPS officer was questioned as his name figured in a diary seized from the possession of one Subhankar Nayak, a broker arrested by the sleuths in 2014.
Nayak allegedly acted as a linkman between bureaucrats, IPS officers and politicians to help the business of the chit fund companies flourish in the state.
It may be recalled that Rajesh Kumar, DIG of north-central range in Talcher, was also interrogated by the CBI in December 2014 in connection with Seashore chit fund scam.
