Senior Journalist Lalit Pattajoshi appeared before CBI office here this evening for interrogation in connection with the mega chit fund scam in Odisha.
Pattajoshi appeared before CBI at around 6.20 pm.
A five-member team of the CBI had conducted a four-hour long on his residence at 3R-16/1 in Unit IV on November 20 and seized a stack of documents, including some Seashore literature. The seized documents included his bank account books and those of his wife.
During the raid, Pattjoshi was questioned about the source of funds for his house at N3/193 in IRC Village in the city. After he claimed that the house was purchased by his wife, he was questioned about the sources of her income and seized her bank account books as well.
Pattajoshi, Managing Editor of Pragativadi, house was raided for his alleged links with the Seashore group of companies.
There have been allegations that Pattajoshi had facilitated fixer Subhankar Nayak’s entry into the power circle in the state.
Nayak, a land broker, was arrested by the CBI on November 18 for his alleged links with the Seashore Group. His house in Chandrama Apartments in Kharavela Nagar here was raided by the agency earlier in the day for his questionable links with the Seashore group.
During its raid on Nayak’s house, the CBI had seized several incriminating documents, besides two gold biscuits and Rs 15 lakh in cash.
