The Khurda district and sessions judge court today reserved its verdict on the hearing of the bail pleas of Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansdah and director Pradip Patnaik, the director of Nabadiganta Capital Services, who have been arrested by the CBI for their alleged involvement in the Odisha chit fund scam, till November 29.
The hearing on the bail plea of former BJD MLA Subarna Naik and former BJP MLA Hitesh Bagartti, along with Nabadiganta director Kartikeya Parida, was adjourned to December 2.
On November 24, the sessions court had deferred the hearing on the bail plea of Shreekrushna Padhi, accountant in the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, to December 2.
Meanwhile, 15 out of the 16 accused arrested for their alleged links with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, a key player in the Odisha chit fund scam, were produced before special CBI court here today.
Among those produced in the court are AT group head Pradip Sethy, Mumbai model Priti Bhatia, AT co-founder Ranjan Das and Manoj Dash, owner of a local television channel. BJD MLA from Banki Pravat Tripathy, however, did not appear due to sickness.
The CBI court posted the next day for production for all the 16 accused to December 9.
While coming out of the court, Sethy told mediapersons that he had given Rs 5.5 crore to OTV, the leading TV news channel in the state, for the promotion of his firms.
