The CBI which brought chit fund company Rose Valley Group chairman Gautam Kundu to the Odisha capital from Kolkata today will seek to take him on remand for interrogation tomorrow after producing him before the Special Chief Judicial Magistrate’s (CJM) Court.
Sources in the CBI said the central investigative agency is likely to seek him on a week-long remand.
Kundu, who had been lodged in Kolkata jail, was brought here on transit remand today and has been stationed at the SIT unit of CBI, the sources added.
Notably, in its chargesheet submitted at the Special CJM court on January 7, CBI charged the Ponzi firm of defrauding depositors of Rs 17,000 crore, out of which Rs 450 crore is from Odisha alone.
