The special CBI court here granted a one-day extension in the remand period of Prashant Dash, CMD of the Seashore group of companies who is in the custody of the central probe agency for his alleged involved in the mega chit find scam in Odisha, this evening.
Dash was produced in the court here this evening at the end of his 13-day remand period.
The CBI counsel pleaded for a one-day extension of the remand, which was granted by the court.
CBI sleuths have already extracted a wealth of information from Dash during his interrogation in custody over the last 13 days. The agency hopes to connect a few more dots in the final round of questioning, CBI sources said.
Based on the information ferreted out of Dash, the CBI had raided the residence of fixer Subhankar Nayak and recovered a host of documents which showed that he was acting as the conduit between thr Seashore and the power circle in the state. Nayak was later arrested.
The agency had interrogated Oodisha Jan Morcha (OJM) president Pyari Mohan Mohapatra face to face with Dash for over four hours yesterday.
