Almost a month after joining Twitter, Odisha Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has started posting in Facebook too.
The official page- ‘CMO Odisha’ is available at https://www.facebook.com/CMO.Odisha/, according to a press release issued by his office today.
Even though the CMO Odisha page was created much earlier, the page had been lying dormant after the profile pictures were uploaded on January 7, 2016. The office, however, is more than making up for the lost time.
At least six posts were made from the page by 9 PM today. The posts include various programmes the Chief Minister attended and various decisions he took.
The page like count crossed 500 at about 9 PM today after the news broke on various TV channels.
The reception, so far, has been largely welcoming for the Chief Minister’s Office unlike the twitter debut of Naveen Patnaik, where he was trolled on the day of joining and was called “Chhamu”.
Besides, if the office interacts with the public or works only as a PR machine remains to be seen. If the Twitter experience is anything to go by, the account @CMO_Odisha largely sticks to retweeting posts from Naveen Patnaik’s personal handle @Naveen_Odisha and never replies to tweets directed at the office.
