Odisha bound trains diverted post Kaifiyat Express derailment


Bhubaneswar: Due to derailment of 12225 Azamgarh-Delhi Express between Pata-Achalda in Allahabad division of North Central Railway, the following trains leaving from New Delhi to East Coast Railway jurisdiction will run in diverted route.

As per a release of the East Coast Railway, 22823 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express leaving New Delhi on 22.08.2017 will run via Kanpur-Lucknow-Moradabad-Ghaziabad.

12802 New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express leaving New Delhi on 22.08.17 will run via Agra-Jhansi-Kanpur.

12816 New Delhi-Puri Nandan Kanan Express scheduled to leave New Delhi on 23.08.2017 will run via Palwal-Jhansi-Kanpur.

On the other hand, 12875 Puri-New Delhi Neelachal Express left Puri on 22.08.2017 diverted via Lucknow-Moradabad-Ghaziabad route, the release said.

Notably, at least 74 persons, four in critical condition, were injured when 10 coaches of the Kaifiyat Express derailed in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning, police said.

The incident took place after the train bound for New Delhi from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh hit a dumper, which had overturned on the railway tracks between Achalda and Pata stations around 2.40 a.m, a railway official said.
