Odisha-born retired IAS officer Dr Anup Kumar Pujari has been appointed as the Special Officer of the Ambekdar School of Economics in hi-tech city Bengaluru.
The school would commence admissions from the 2017-18 academic session. The institute would come up on Bangalore University’s Jnanabharathi campus spanning over 43.35 acres.
The Sambalpur-born retired bureaucrat holds a doctoral degree in economics and has served in various capacities at the state and Centre.
The 1980 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer passed the HSC examination from Chandra Sekhar Behera Zilla School in Sambalpur. After graduating from GM College in economics, Pujari has done his post graduation from Delhi School of Economics followed by Ph.D from Boston University. Besides, he has also done higher studies in Law and Defence studies from Delhi University.
His wife Sundari Subramaniam Pujari is a 1980 batch IDES officer.
He has also worked as an academician in various capacities. He worked as a Lecturer in Economics, Delhi University, visiting faculty on Economics at John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA, Deputy Director & Academic Coordinator of Executive Programme in Budgeting in Public Sector, organized by Harvard Institute of International Development (HIID), Harvard University in USA, Kenya & Jordon and Instructor in Economics at various universities in Boston (Boston University, Northeastern University, UMASS at Boston).
