Jeypore, Jan 28:
The BJP today charged Odisha ruling party MP from Koraput Jhina Hikaka of filing false affidavit.
BJP state unit secretary Bhrugu Buxipatra at a press conference here today alleged that BJD MP Jhinna Hikaka had provided dissimilar information with regard to his educational qualifications in the affidavits filed by him along with his nomination papers as a candidate for the election in 2009 for the Laxmipur Assembly constituency and in 2014 election for the Koraput Lok Sabha constituency.
“If somebody states some facts/information in an affidavit and later it is found to be incorrect or false then it becomes a case of criminal offence. Bharatiya Janata Party is waiting for his reply. After getting his reply, the BJP will take appropriate step whichever is required, be it court or out of court or an agitation,” said Buxipatra.
However, Hikaka claimed that whatever he has stated in the affidavit is true.
“You might all know that IGNOU provides distance education courses. From 2006 to 2008 I was doing PG JMC there and had appeared the final examination. Later I joined LLB course and completed it in 2010. Then I joined LLM course and appeared the examination. Where is the anomaly?” the Koraput MP queried.
“I haven’t provided any wrong information. They can inquire and check with the concerned educational institutions where I have done my courses and appeared their examinations,” he added.
