Bhubaneswar, Mar 6:
Odisha BJP President Basant Panda today announced the list of state office-bearers that consists of seven vice presidents, four general secretaries, one general secretary (organisation), one treasurer and 10 secretaries.
“We have finalised a list of 24 officer bearers. There also are 79 executive members, 38 invitees, 84 special invitees in the team. The decisions have been taken on a consensus basis. I am sure the team will take the message of the Modiji to the people of the state and flag the misgovernance of Odisha Government,” said Panda announcing the list in a press conference held at party’s Bhubaneswar headquarters today.
Even though BJP constitution allows for 10 vice presidents, Panda is yet to name rest of the three vice presidents of his team. He, however, clarified that the names would be announced soon.
In a major change, Sarada Satpathy has replaced Prasanna Mishra as General Secretary (Organisation). The position bears significance as this is considered to be the RSS representation in the party.
While he has inducted many new faces in the team, many experienced faces such as Prithiviraj Harichandan, Bhrugu Baxipatra have been retained and promoted. Some of the more experienced leaders have been accommodated in the ‘invitees’ category. Panda has tried to strike a balance between various gender, region and age equations. The announcement, so far, has been received well in the party.
