Bhubaneswar, Nov 24:

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced that Thalassemia patients visiting Mumbai for treatment will be able to book Odisha Bhawan there for stay during treatment.

The decision was taken to allow children – who usually suffer from the disease – a lesser expensive treatment opportunity as the repeated exchange of blood requires repeated visit to the specialty hospitals outside the state causing financial stress upon the family members of the patients.

The government had earlier rolled out the option to book Odisha Bhawan for stay during treatment for cancer and heart patients.

Located on Plot number- 5 in sector 30 (A) of Vashi area under Navi Mumbai, the guest house was built to primarily provide temporary accommodation to visiting cancer patients and their attendants.
