Bhubaneswar, Sep 28:

Ruckus over Polavaram issue halted proceedings in Odisha Assembly today as BJD members created noise in the House over the matter following which the Speaker adjourned the Assembly till 3 PM.

As the House assembled for the day, a motion condoling the death of Odia BSF jawan Peetabas Majhi was moved. After all the legislators observed one-minute silence for the departed soul, the BJD MLAs started shouting slogans against the Central government over the Polavaram issue.

They opposed the decision of NABARD to fully fund the entire Polavaram project and release Rs 800 crore towards it.

Unable to run the House, Speaker Niranjan Pujari adjourned the Assembly till 3 PM.
