Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor and film producer Pupinder Singh’s wife Rupinder Kaur surrendered before a local court here today in connection with a cheating case.
Soon after surrendering before the court, she was granted a conditional bail in the case involving the couple.
Earlier, Pupinder was arrested by the Twin City Commissionerate police on July 29 in the cheating case. However, Judicial Magistrate First Class court (JMFC) court granted him the bail.
The JMFC court had issued non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Pupinder and his wife Rupinder Kaur in connection with the case pertaining to repayment of a loan which they had taken from a mining company.
The anchor turned actor and his wife had taken a loan of Rs 30 lakh from the mining firm owned by SK Sahoo in 2013 for film making. Though he had initially repaid Rs 5 lakh, as many as three cheques given by Pupinder to the company bounced in the later phase after which the firm moved the court, reports said.
The court had summoned Pupinder for personal appearance before it but he failed to do so following which the court issued the NBW, reports added.
