Hours after Mahila Police issued a notice to Tattwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pom Pom to depose before it by July 7, a top Odisha cop today said that the casting couch accused actor may be arrested within 48 hours.


Additional DCP BN Dandapat said that the actor is likely to be arrested in 48 hours.

“The BJP Mahila Morcha activists are demanding the arrest of Papu within 48 hours. He may be arrested before that also. We have formed a special squad and we are trying our level best to nab his at the earliest,” Additional DCP BN Dandapat said.

It may be mentioned here that a special team comprising of zone-1 ACP and the IIC of Mahila police station and other senior officials have been formed by the Commissionerate Police to track the whereabouts of the accused actor who has remained untraced since a couple of days.

The women’s wing of BJP today staged a demonstration in front of Mahila Police station here demanding the arrest of Papu.

“We had given an ultimatum to the government to arrest Papu Pom Pom. We came to know that he was in Nimapara yesterday. The administration said that he has moved out of the city. This signifies somewhere there is a nexus or there is pressure from the Chief Minister. We will continue to demonstrate till he is arrested,” BJP Mahila Morcha leader, Prabhati Parida said.

The protestors, however, withdrew the stir after assurance from the cops that the accused will be nabbed soon.
