Odisha government’s annual budget outlay for 2017-18 fiscal is likely to touch Rs 1.06 lakh crore, according to sources.

The Council of Ministers which met at the state secretariat here today with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the chair gave its approval to the draft annual budget proposal of the Odisha government for the financial year 2017-18, sources said.

Sources revealed that budgetary allocations have been made scheme/programme wise instead of the earlier practice of department wise allocations.

The budget has been prepared in line with the Centre by combining plan and non-plan expenditure, the sources added.

Notably, last year the main annual budget was of Rs 94,000 crore.
