The Odisha Society of the Americans (OSA) will celebrate the 47th Annual convention on July 1-3 at the Rhode island Convention Center, Providence at Boston, USA .
The theme for this cultural festival is “Transforming Odisha for a better tomorrow through partnership” and will be a 3-Day gala event featuring iconic and inspirational speakers, world class entertainment, workshops and seminars to discuss innovative ideas for better healthcare and economic development for the state of Odisha.
The star spangled event will be showcasing Odia talents like Raw Star Rituraj Mohanty, Hiphop dance wizard Harihar Dash, young and upcoming singer Amruta Bharati Panda, the singing queen Nazia Alam, Chhau artists of Mayur Centre, famous fashion designer Ramuli Pattnaik, and other luminary stalwarts of Odisha.
A very excited Amruta said, “I will be singing many Odia songs like eyi lagane mo mana manena, sei chuna chuna tara phula, seye moro kuanra punei janha and in hindi there will be many numbers like dil hoom hoom kare ,tujhse naraz nahin zindagi etc. I will be singing some duets with Rituraj also.”
“Rituraj and Harihar are also doing a jugal bandee which will enthrall the crowd,” claimed Sameet Patnaik who is the brain behind the Sunle Maula album showcasing – Saying no to child labour supported by Unicef . This song will be launched in the international circuit at the convention.
The pride of Odisha Dr Sruti Mohapatra who motivates and inspires from her wheelchair will be taking part in the festival. Eminent writer and philosopher Dr. Rama Chandra Behera will also participate in the function.
It will showcase the Odisha crafts, textiles, literature, music, tourist spots, and photo show of famous monuments, arts and paintings. The itinerary has a list of very interesting programmes like champu, chhanda competitions, drama workshops, fashion shows etc.
The festival will be attended by Non Resident Odias from all over North America and Canada who will be celebrating the Odia culture and heritage with pride. It will be a truly quality time bonding with homeland and enjoying the odia camaraderie, cuisine and culture.
