North, interior, south Odisha to get heavy rains in next 36 hours

Most parts of Odisha received heavy rainfall today under the influence of the depression formed over the north east part of the state since this morning.

Baleswar (263.9 mm) recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours (till 5.30 pm) followed by Keonjhar (205.4), Jharsuguda (125.9),Bolangir (97), Bhawanipatna (96), Baripada (91.6), Chandbali (84.7), Titlagarh (77.1), Paradip (70.5), Hirakud (61.5), Sambalpur (60.1), Sonepur (56.4) Cuttack (54.8), Angul (54.2), Talcher (52), Bhubaneswar (34), Phulbani (46), Koraput (41), Sundargarh (39), Dhenkanal (35), Malkangiri (26.6), Daringbadi (23) and Puri (13.2).

The local Met Centre has predicted isolated heavy rainfall in north, interior and southern Odisha in the next 36 hours till July 23.

The state is likely to receive more rainfall again after July 25, the Met bulletin said.
