Bhubaneswar, Jun 15:
Students and guardians in Odisha are a worried lot as there has been no notification for admission in the Plus Three streams even 15 days after the announcement of the annual Plus Two results.
While the authorities of 706 Plus Three colleges in the state have completed the process for admission in a total of 1,71,714 seats in the Plus Three streams, it is not clear why the Higher Education department is yet to notify the date the admission.
Reliable sources in the Higher Education department said the file relating to Plus Three admission is now with the secretary, Gagan Kumar Dhal. After the clearance of the file, the department will issue a notification to this effect.
However, a senior official of the department, requesting anonymity, said despite the delay in the notification, the entire process of admission would be over before August 16 while regular classes would commence from August 16.
Meanwhile, there has been no admission in the Plus Three admission in the Rama Devi Women’s Autonomous University but for an entirely different reason.
While the newly created university has been left out from the Plus Three admission along with other Plus Three colleges after being accorded autonomous status, sources said the process for admission in the newly created university would begin after Prof Padmaja Mishra, who has gone on leave, joins as officer on special duty (OSD), Admission.
