No mobiles went into ‘garbha gruha’, avers Odisha govt

Chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Suresh Chandra Mohapatra today asserted that no mobile phones were carried into the garbha gruha (sanctum sanctorum) of the 12th century Shree Jagannath temple during the secret Brahma Parivartan ritual of the Lords on June 15.

No photographs have been taken of the all-important ritual, he clarified.

“Our preliminary inquiry has revealed that no one carried mobile phones into the main temple. On the basis of th inquiry conducted till date, it has been found that no carried mobiles into the main temple or took photographs of the rituals,” Mohapatra told the media today.

Mohapatra said technical teams of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Shree Jagannath temple will jointly examine the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on July 20.
