Cuttack: A day after raiding a rented house at Samantarapur village in Kishan Nagar area of Odisha’s Cuttack over suspicion on a 55-year-old person, the NIA today issued him a notice to depose before it at the agency’s headquarters in New Delhi.
Akhtar Hussain Khan, the concerned person, has been asked by NIA to appear before it on December 4 at around 11 am for “answering certain questions” relating to a case registered by the agency.
On the other hand, Khan in his reaction said he has no terror activity links. “I neither have link with any anti-national organisation nor terrorist. If any evidence against me comes to fore, I am ready to face death punishment. My passport, ATM card, SIM card, cheque book and land papers have been seized by the NIA,” he said.
“I was in Saudi Arabia for 10 years during which a person from Pakistan became my friend. After returning India, I had talked to him over phone for which the NIA is probably suspecting me,” he added.
Notably, Khan was yesterday detained by NIA and later released after questioning.
DGP RP Sharma had said that there might be some intelligence inputs with the six-member NIA team which conducted the raid. He reportedly stayed for many years in Saudi Arabia, the top cop had said.
