In a tragic incident, a newly-married BSF jawan died in a road accident today in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on his way back home from his father-in-law’s house.


The deceased has been identified as Prakash Sethi of Chandiapalli under Mahakalapada block in the district and was serving the nation as a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper.

According to reports, Prakash got married on November 21 and was returning from his father-in-law’s house on bike after dropping his brother-in-law who was a guest to his family.

Unfortunately, a speeding motorcycle hit him near Hotel Kalinga Palace in Kendrapara town following which he fell off the bike and sustained severe head injuries.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

However, the rider and pillion of the bike which caused the accident sustained minor injuries and were admitted to a hospital.

They were in an inebriated state and identified as Akash Jena and Bijnan Jena, sources said.
