Even after government’s attempts by launching several campaigns to save girl child, another newborn girl was rescued from a forest in Odisha here today.
A woman while collecting firewood found the baby abandoned Krushnachandrapur forest under Betanati police limits.
The rescued child was admitted to Baripada hospital.
Rina Marndi, the woman who rescued the baby girl, said, “I found the little baby was crying in the forest. I informed the child protection officials”.
“The baby will undergo medical treatment in the preliminary stage. Later, we will try to find out the legal guardian of the baby to hand over the baby,” said District Child Protection officer Mamatamayee Biswal.
