Newborn boy rescued from roadside in Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: A newborn boy was rescued from roadside by police near Chorda Chhak in Vyasanagar Municipality of Jajpur district this morning.

Sources said the Jajpur Road police rescued the baby from the roadside and admitted him to the hospital for treatment. Doctors said health condition of the baby is stable now but he might be shifted to Sishu Bhavan in Cuttack if required.

Though the whereabouts of the baby is yet to be ascertained, police have started an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the cops and the hospital authorities have informed the district child protection unit about the incident.

However, the police officials were not available to comment on the matter.
