With an aim to facilitate journey to and from Gandhidham, ministry of Railways have decided to introduce a new weekly express train between Puri and Gandhidham.
On its inaugural run, this train will leave Gandhidham on October 8. However, it will leave from Puri every Saturday from October 11 onward, said an East Coast Railway (ECoR) release.
19453 Gandhidham-Puri weekly express train will leave Gandhidham at 7.30 pm on every Wednesday and reach Puri at 7.55 pm on every Friday.
In the return direction, 19454 Puri-Gandhidham weekly express will leave from Puri at 9.05 am on every Saturday and reach Gandhidham at 9.30 am on every Monday.
The train has one AC-2 tier, two AC-3 tiers, seven sleeper class coaches, six general second class coaches and two guard-cum- luggage vans in its composition.
The train has stoppages at Sakshigopal, Khurda Road, Balugaon, Chhatrapur, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Palasa, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvatipuram, Rayagada, Muniguda, Kesinga, Titlagarh, Kantabanji, Mahasamund in ECoR jurisdiction between Puri and Gandhidham.
The train will also stop at Raipur, Durg, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Amalner, Nandurbar, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Ahmedabad, Viramgam, Samakhiali and Bhachau stations en route.
