The decisions on this context were taken today in a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the state Secretariat.

As per information released to the press, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will seek help from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) to train the teachers.

Similarly 2500 new B.Ed seats will be created from the upcoming academic session. These seats would be accommodated in 17 government colleges and seven universities. A request letter has already been sent to SCERT on this context.

“The State Teacher Training Policy is in final stages. We expect it to be announced within next two months. We are also evolving a unified teacher training that will make it mandatory for teachers to undergo some or other form of capacity building training every year,” said a senior official of NISER after the meeting.
