Jatani, Sep 16:
” BJD supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik is maintaining secret ties with Gujarat chief minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and there is every likelihood of Naveen forming an alliance with the saffron party in the next general elections,” senior Congress leader and Union minister Srikant Jena has claimed.
Briefing reporters after campaigning for party candidates contesting the urban local body polls in Jatani on Sunday, Jena claimed he had definite information that the two bachelor chief ministers were in touch with each other and had reached some kind of an understanding on a future tie-up. ” I want the people of the state to know about this deal'”, he said.
However, rebutting Jena’s charges, Energy minister Arun Sahu said the chief minister had already made it clear the BJD would maintain equidistance from the BJP and the Congress.
“The chief minister has also disapproved of the leaderships of Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi for the country,” he added.
