Bhubaneswar, June 25:
The 10th Junior National Soft Tennis Tournament began at KITT University campus here on Tuesday.
Over 300 player, consisting of s 20 boys’ and 13 girls’ teams from 20 states and Union Territory of Chandigarh, are participating in the five-day tournament that is being jointly organised by Odisha Soft Tennis Association and KIIT University.
The tournament, to be played on knockout basis while the teams will participate in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles events, would conclude on June 28.
Based on their performance In this tournament, the players would be selected for the Asian Junior National Soft Tennis Championship in South Korea.
Among others, Sports and Youth Services minister Sudam Marandi, MP Prasana Patasani, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta, All India Soft Tennis Federation president Rajib Parmar and secretary JK Khodadhara were present.
