Bhubaneswar, Dec 24:
Opener Nataraj Behera served a notice to the Indian selectors after scoring his fourth successive century in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season against Gujarat at the Motera stadium on the outskirts of Ahmedabad this morning.
Not out on 64 on Monday, he went on to duly complete his century this morning putting his team in a strong position of 231/2 in reply to Gujarat’s first innings score of 479/8 declared.
Behera had earlier scored three back-to-back centuries against the star-studded Delhi and Mumbai teams, two of them in the match against the latter.
“Nataraj has been in awesome form this season. With four consecutive centuries, he has certainly enhanced his claim for a place in the Indian team or at least the India A team,” an elated Odisha Cricket Association president and IPL commissioner Ranjib Biswal said after Behera’s stupendous feat.
