Public sector aluminum major National Aluminum Company Ltd (NALCO) today announced its decision to provide sanitation facilities in more than 150 schools in Odisha under the Swachh Bharat campaign as part of its commitment to ensure cleanliness.
“NALCO has consented to be an active partner in this campaign launched by the Government of India, and has identified more than 150 schools for providing sanitation facilities” Nalco CMD Anshuman Das said.
Apart from administering the oath of cleanliness to its employees and launching a drive at its residential township and corporate office to ensure cleanliness, the public sector company also organized street plays and rallies to raise awareness on the issue.
The CMD launched the construction of toilets at the nearby Damana Government High School and U.G.U.P School, at Bhubaneswar as part of the Swachh Vidyalaya campaign.
The company also launched construction of two more toilets at schools in the periphery villages of its operating units at Damanjodi and one in Angul, said a company release.
Besides it corporate office here, the company also undertook ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaigns at its units at Damanjodi and Angul.
